Meet Main Street Managers Jean Lapadula and Carmen Hilton

Town of New Market – Jean Lapadula

The Town of New Market has a new Main Street Manager. Jean Lapadula started this past February.

“We are thrilled to have Jean join the town staff,” said Mayor Winslow Burhans III. "She has dived right in and is helping us launch several new Main Street initiatives as we come out of the Covid -19 emergency.”

The Town Planner and co-Main street Manager said, “We really appreciate Jean’s energy and experience. We have been focusing on supporting our businesses and attracting new businesses and artisans to town. With Jean’s help, we plan to up our game on beautification and tourism promotion and to build on our Main Street streetscape project completed in 2016.”

"I am so excited to be here," said Jean. "New Market is a great town with lots of nice people. There are three new businesses opening or expanding on Main Street. They have a great new community park, and it's a charming place to explore." 

Jean has a background in business management and contract administration and has worked in both the public and private sectors. She has also volunteered with a number of community organizations including another Main Street community.

Jean is a resident of nearby Middletown, MD, and enjoys spending time with her three children.


City of Brunswick – Carmen Hilton

Carmen Hilton joined Brunswick in November with a background in Commercial Real Estate and non-profit management. She is enthusiastic and passionate and believes in building relationships in the community. She and her family live in Mount Airy.Her husband is a property manager, her daughter just recently graduated from the University of Rhode Island with double degrees – Ocean Engineer and Spanish, and her son is in his first year at Salisbury University.

Carmen is is most excited about working with the Main Street Board to connect and support established businesses and residents downtown and encourage new businesses to make their home in Brunswick!
