Dr. Olivier Côté’s work at University of Guelph focused on anti-inflammatory proteins in the prevention and treatment of asthma-like diseases. His work contributed to the development of various immunodiagnostic and genetic tests to monitor lung and kidney disease predisposition. Olivier now leads assay development and optimization services at BioAssay Works.
Describe your greatest accomplishment.
Designed, developed, and delivered rapid assays for identity testing of multiple COVID-19 vaccines in less than 6 months.
What is your experience with volunteering and civic engagement?
I act as alternate commissioner on the Gaithersburg Historic District and volunteer for multiple nonprofits such as Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive, Rainbow Place, Rockville Seniors Snow Removal Program and more.
What was your first job?
Picking berries.
What do you like to do for fun in Frederick County?
I enjoy mountain biking.
