Dr. Josh Funk is the CEO and Founder of Rehab 2 Perform (R2P). R2P is now a 2x Inc. 5000 Honoree as well as recipient of Inc. Best Workplaces, 2x Frederick County Chamber Award Winner, Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Emerging Business of the Year for 2021 and #233 Most Entrepreneurial Company through Entrepreneur Magazine. Dr. Funk is also a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Graduate.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success and why? 

Unwavering. I think it takes consistency to another level in which I am just able to continue to move forward through peaks and valleys of entrepreneurship.

Name one award you are most proud to have received.

I am most proud to have received the Inc. Best Workplaces award because that award best signifies that we have a thriving culture and community that we have created, that enables our team to be connected to one another, and the people we are serving.

Describe your greatest accomplishment.

My greatest professional accomplishment is keeping our team and clients safe during the pandemic, while maintaining a profitable business in healthcare.

What is your experience with volunteering and civic engagement?

Have been a previous board member on Primary Care Coalition, Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, as well as part of the Marketing Board for the American Physical Therapy Association.

Our team, and myself, regular participate in career days, guest speaking and provide internship opportunities for students in High School, College and Graduate School. As it relates to Frederick County, you will often see us at community events throughout the year.

What do you like to do for fun in Frederick County?

Hiking. Enjoying the restaurants and bars in downtown Frederick.

Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

My Mom. She has been a tremendous representation and example of someone who can truly live a healthy work-life balance.

What is your favorite leadership book?

Crucial Conversations. It enables you to troubleshoot your weaknesses as well as improve your ability to communicate with a wide variety of different people with varying personality types, biases, experiences, etc.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Owning and operating R2P as a regional health care player in the DMV.
