Amy Lyons serves as the Director of Mission Services and Community Engagement at Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley. In her role, she is tasked with rethinking mission services and helping more people connect to tools and resources needed to move closer to family sustaining wages through meaningful employment. Lyons has been with Goodwill for more than 11 years.
What is your greatest professional accomplishment?
Leading merger efforts for Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley in 2020 in order to stabilize the organization and later being able to lead efforts to bring new employment tools and resources to Frederick and Carroll counties.
What is your experience with volunteering and civic engagement?
I am a member of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek and the Women’s Business Network of Frederick.
In addition to Rotary service initiatives as a new member, I sat on the 2021 Scholarship Selection Committee for the Community Foundation of Frederick County, volunteers with the Phillips Collection, and part of a group that provides a meal to a local homeless shelter monthly.

What do you like to do for fun in Frederick County?
Visit cideries and wineries with my husband.
Who is your greatest influence?
My parents and grandparents taught me the importance of accountability and giving back to the community.

The Ideal Team Player by Patrick Lencioni
What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success and why?
The ability to adapt and work through change has helped me grow from my experiences and has been especially important during a pandemic.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Growing within Goodwill and being a good role model for my son.
