What has been your greatest professional accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment is my business. I started with the company 15 years ago as a single mom, going to college, no real stability but such a desire to succeed that I just kept working and believing in myself until I achieved my goal.

What is your experience with volunteering and civic engagement? What is your experience with volunteering and civic engagement?

I started with Woman to Woman Mentoring as a mentee during a time in my life where I took a chance and asked for help. The program changed my life. My experience inspired me to become a mentor. I was then elected to serve as a Board Member.

I help build and promote Frederick County small businesses. I volunteer as a coach and act as a sounding board and idea generator for entrepreneurs. I am working on a non-profit project to create space for small business owners to come together and learn from each other.

What do you like to do for fun in Frederick County?

Spin at LifeCYCLE Frederick and lifting weights with Sam at Soldierfit Frederick!

Who has a great influence on your professional life?

Debby Neely - owner of Neely Coaching and Training in Frederick. Debby has been coaching me, asking me questions, helping me problem solve for years. I've always looked up to her, but she's always been that accountability partner and safe space for me that every business owner needs.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success and why?

I am highly motivated. Even on days I wake up not so motivated, I have the discipline to keep going and ability to refocus on my why.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself with having two State Farm offices, helping my husband run his timber frame building company, and I also see a non-profit leadership position in my future.
