Frederick County is excited to celebrate Tonix Pharmaceuticals on their ribbon cutting of their new location focused on Infectious Disease R&D Center. This location will enable the company to accelerate the discovery and in-house development of antiviral drugs and vaccines for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
The ribbon cutting took place at their location with remarks from Seth Lederman, M.D., President and CEO of Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp, as well as elected officials from Federal, State, County and City levels. “This R&D facility will expand our capabilities to prepare against existing and emerging infectious threats,” shared Seth Lederman, who described Frederick as the center of the world, with our big asset Fort Detrick and the amazing workforce available in the County.
Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland spoke about the life science industry in the State and the importance of investing in research to save people lives. “This city is open for business,” shared Senator Cardin. Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner shared, “Frederick County has all the ingredients required to attract biotech businesses,” prime location and a skilled and talented workforce.
