STRT1UP Road Show Brings Pitch Bus to Frederick County for Entrepreneur Competition

The STRT1UP Road Show will make its way through Frederick County on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 as part of a yearlong “Pitch Across Maryland” entrepreneurship celebration. The STRT1UP bus will have four tour stops in Frederick to highlight life sciences and technology ecosystems in Frederick and provide both startups and innovative second stage companies the opportunity to share their stories as part of the Pitch Across Maryland competition.

The STRT1UP Roadshow is the largest statewide celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Mid-Atlantic. Entrepreneurs and local innovators will have the opportunity to create a video pitch for their business, with their words and their passion, on the Startup Maryland Bus. The pitch videos will be edited and given to the entrepreneurs for free as well as entered into the annual Pitch Across Maryland Competition. The best of the best pitch videos will have the opportunity to present to investors and serial entrepreneurs at the 2018 STRT1UP Showcase.

Hosted in partnership with Startup Maryland, the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland (CAMI), Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED) and the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development (DED), the Frederick STRT1UP tour day includes: a stop jointly hosted by Dragon Distillery and the Frederick Municipal Airport to celebrate the growing craft beverage industry, the James M. Stockman Cancer Institute where researchers will share their stories about innovative cancer treatment research and provide tours of the new facility, and a stop jointly hosted by Yakabod and Frederick County Bank in downtown Frederick. The daylong tour and celebration culminates in a networking event hosted by CAMI at Serendipity in downtown Frederick.
