Sherman Coleman, Business Development Specialist for the Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED), will transition into a newly created position within the Human Resources Division of Frederick County Government starting March 29, 2021. Sherman has been with OED for over 14 years and has been instrumental in assisting minority and small businesses in Frederick County.
According to Helen Propheter, “Sherman has built a very successful program, the Minority Business Vision with monthly networking events and educational programs over the years. We are glad that he will be using his connections in our community to make our workforce more inclusive.”
Sherman will be the Human Resources Analyst-Diversity Recruitment Specialist and will be responsible for general Human Resource activities to include promoting diversity in recruitment, establishing fair policies, networking with minority candidates, EEO reporting and general Human Resources programs. The primary focus will be to attract and retain a diversified workforce. This newly created position will be a pivotal role in the execution of recruitment to establish a more diverse workforce in Frederick County Government.
