Partner Spotlight: Visit Frederick

Every year, people from all over the world travel to Frederick County to enjoy its many shopping, dining, and recreation opportunities. In 2017, the number of visitors who spent at least one night in Frederick grew to over 905,000. These visitors contribute significantly to our local economy, improving the quality of life for Frederick County residents. It is Visit Frederick’s job to ensure that the community continues to enjoy the economic benefits of tourism to our area.

Visit Frederick, also known as the Tourism Council of Frederick County, is the official Destination Marketing Organization for Frederick County, Maryland. A public-private partnership, the organization is dedicated to enhancing the economic benefit of tourism for the county’s businesses, attractions, local governments, and residents. In addition to advertising and promoting visitation to the County, Visit Frederick also operates the Frederick Visitor Center and administers grant programs.

Did You Know?

  • In 2019, over 20,000 Frederick Visitor Guides have been mailed to people who have requested more information about Frederick after seeing an advertisement or our website.
  • The Frederick Visitor Center has welcomed over 119,000 people in 2019 including visitors from places as far away as Australia and as close as Gettysburg.
  • There are over 300 Visit Frederick members helping to promote tourism in Frederick County. Membership is just $50 per year and includes a variety of benefits.
