Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED) would like to introduce Senior Business Development Manager for Attraction and Marketing, Troy Bolyard. Troy comes to OED after a long career with State Farm Insurance. Troy’s extensive leadership and project management experience, as well as his strong relationship building skills have allowed him to step into this new role during an uncertain time and be effective. Troy is a long-time resident of Frederick County and has built strong relationships throughout the community that will assist in his new position.
Troy received his Business Administration degree from Alderson-Broaddus University in Philippi, WV where he was a 4-year baseball player. Troy is extremely active within the Frederick athletic community. He currently serves as the Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach at Walkersville High School, as well as the Assistant Athletic Director. Troy is also Basketball Commissioner for the Glade Valley Athletic Association and has served as Mid-Maryland Girls Basketball Association Vice President for the past 10 years.
Troy lives in Walkersville with his wife Erin and the couple has 3 daughters: Sydney, Ally and Ryley. Troy is an avid college basketball fan and cheers for the North Carolina Tarheels.
A fun fact about Troy: he was part of a large singing group in high school and even had a leading role in the musical “Hello Dolly.”
