The MD MEP Manufacturing Internship Program will be back for the 5th year in a row! The Manufacturing Internship Program is designed to help manufacturers with the cost of hiring and training a summer intern. As part of the Internship Program, all participating manufacturing companies are eligible for a reimbursement to support wages paid to interns during the summer of 2020.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Participating companies must be a Maryland manufacturer
All Interns must be college students and must work a minimum of 30 hours a week.
Upon acceptance into the program, the intern(s) must participate in MD MEP’s soft skill training and facility tours. The 2020 schedule is as follows:
Friday, June 12 – Internship Kick Off at MD MEP in Columbia
Friday, June 26 – Tour of Manufacturing Facility (TBD)
Friday July 10 – Tour of Manufacturing Facility (TBD)
Friday, July 31 – Tour of Manufacturing Facility (TBD)
Once the internship is completed, the company will submit the internship exit form and MD MEP will issue the reimbursement.
Each company is eligible for a $1,000 reimbursement per intern – up to 5 interns or $5,000 maximum reimbursement per company.
