International CEOs and Investors Tour Frederick

Last week our Attraction team, together with members of the City Department of Economic Development hosted 12 life sciences CEOs and investors from Taiwan, Hungary, South Korea, and India in conjunction with the Maryland Department of Commerce’s Office of International Investment and Trade. The Frederick visit and industry-focused tour was part of a series of events scheduled in conjunction with the Select USA Conference held at National Harbor.

During the day, the businesses toured FITCI, visited several development sites and toured the Ellume manufacturing facility.  Throughout the tour, members of both the County and City economic development teams shared information on Frederick's biotech industry cluster, the many cultural assets, our tremendous quality of life, education system and highly educated workforce.

“We very much welcomed the opportunity to establish new relationships and foster collaborations with the individuals who participated in the event,” said Beth A Woodring, Director of Business Attraction and Finance. “We work closely with our partners to attract business to Frederick and this daylong event allowed these visitors to see firsthand the degree of connectivity, collaboration and resources that our community offers.  We look forward to continued discussions with several of the firms who expressed interest in a Frederick location.”
