Good Vibes in Frederick County

On December 11th, Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED) wrapped up the year with their Annual Business Reception at McClintock Distilling on Wednesday.  With over 250 business leaders, partners and elected officials in attendance, it was a night to celebrate Good Vibes in Frederick County.

“Our community has a good vibe feeling right now, and our businesses helped create this vibe,” said OED’s Executive Director Helen Propheter.  County Executive Jan Gardner delivered an opening statement highlighting some of the County’s many achievements over the last year.

To go along with the theme, OED debuted a Good Vibes in Frederick County video.  The video features local businesses and partners lip-syncing to Chris Janson’s Good Vibes while recapping economic highlights from 2019.   “We have some real rock stars in Frederick County,” said Helen Propheter.

A huge hit this year was the giveaway, which consisted of a one-of-a-kind Good Vibes in Frederick County hat that was created by Special Tees.  Along with the hat, Special Tees offered to enhance the event with onsite screen printing of Good Vibes shirts.

Maryland Bakes, a bakery incubator, was on hand and provided delicious baked goods.  Drinks served were all local to show support for our wineries, breweries and distilleries.  With new regulation changes, that included two signature drinks created by McClintock and included McCutcheon’s apple products.

The event was sponsored by Platinum Sponsor Middletown Valley Bank and Mlend; Gold Sponsors Woodsboro Bank and VCRE; Silver Sponsor Special Tees; and Bronze Sponsors Frederick County Bank and St. John Properties, Inc.  To learn more about sponsorship opportunities for next year’s Annual Business Reception, please email OED at

It takes a whole team to pull off this event each year.  Here is a big shout out to Matt Doyle for leading the event, Britt Swartzlander for taking charge of the Good Vibes video production, and Sharon Hipkins for assisting with event coordination.
