This past year has been very challenging for our business community. The Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED) wanted to thank our businesses for all they have done during these times. OED partnered with the local craft beverage industry to provide a special appreciation gift made in Frederick County. On March 17, 2021, OED held a drive-through giveaway at the Frederick Fairgrounds handing out craft beverages made by breweries, wineries and distilleries in Frederick County, as well as coupon books for great deals on local brews. According to Katie Stevens, Associate Director of Agriculture Business Development, “This is our way of saying thank you to our businesses for being a pillar in our community, while also supporting our craft beverage industry.” Approximately 70 Frederick County businesses participated in the event. OED also had economic development partners join the Cheers to You campaign including the Maryland Department of Commerce, Frederick County Workforce Services, Chamber of Commerce, City of Frederick Department of Economic Development, Downtown Frederick Partnership and the Tourism Council of Frederick County.
