Changing the World Through Media, One Story at a Time

88 Visual, founded in 2020, is making a significant impact in Frederick County through powerful visual storytelling. The two owners, Brandon Chapman and De’von Wellesley, worked together on a video project during a mission trip in South Africa in 2017. The two hit it off ever since and used their complimentary skills to do meaningful work together.

It wasn’t until March of 2020 that the successful business venture began. With De’von’s creativity and Brandon’s passion for the community, they knew they wanted to help suffering businesses when the pandemic struck. They grabbed their equipment and immediately starting working with local businesses to tell their stories in a creative way.

In just two years, on top of many great accomplishments and honorable recognitions, the innovative video agency has become the “go-to” for business and nonprofit creative content needs ranging from commercials, short films, documentaries and even photography.

The Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED) had the pleasure of meeting with the dynamic duo to learn more about their business. Here are some interesting facts that we learned:

How were you introduced to the video/media world?

De’von has always had an interest for videos and has a creative mind to produce video content. Brandon loves building relationships and telling stories in an interesting way. Together, we are able to produce authentic stories that make a lasting impact in someone’s life.

What is your favorite aspect of working in the media business?

We love hearing a person’s problem or video idea and helping them turn this thought or idea into a compelling video to help drive brand awareness or to just educate the viewers.

What makes 88 Visual different from other media companies?

We launched this business to truly help businesses thrive. We understand the power of good video content. And, that’s why we provide good heartfelt content that moves people into action. Whether it’s bringing in more customers to a local restaurant or bringing in new clients and employees for businesses to grow.

What do you love most about doing business in Frederick County?

We love being on a shoot and being recognized in Frederick! We love the fact that Frederick is small enough to know enough people but big enough to learn something new and meet someone new every day. This is a growing County and we look forward to continue to grow with it.

What can we expect to see from 88 Visual in 2022?
