In honor of Women’s History Month, we celebrate the females of the past, present, and future – especially those making waves in the world of business. When it comes to starting a business, it is important to have someone on your side, making sure all of your ducks are in a row. That’s where the Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC) comes in. From workshops and seminars to one-on-one business counseling, the MWBC helps small businesses and empowers them to grow and succeed.
In Frederick County, we are lucky to have Karen Kalantzis as a business counselor through the MWBC. Karen works closely with female business owners, offering knowledge, resources and support. To learn more about business counseling services, you can reach Karen through email at Karen@MarylandWBC.org.
Through the MWBC, Karen also hosts a monthly virtual event called Coffee and Connections. It is designed for female entrepreneurs in Frederick County looking to connect with other like-minded business owners. The goal is to create a nurturing community to provide support and relief, and allow for business growth. These virtual meetings are held the last Thursday of each month from 10:00-11:15a.m. Each event includes introductions, an expert guest speaker, breakout rooms with great discussion, and sharing time as a group. The speaker’s subject changes each month with a variety of topics relevant to women in business. The next Coffee and Connections is scheduled for March 31, 2022. To register for this event, or any other training offered by the MWBC, check out their calendar here.
