A Touch of Delhi to Warm Your Soul

After moving to Frederick in 2018, Shivaani Arya was in search of authentic Indian Food to enjoy with her family. After discovering many options, she felt that none of them truly “felt like home” to her or met the needs of her teenage daughter who was a vegetarian. As a result, Shivaani began making her own authentic dishes, not only for her family, but for others to enjoy as well.

In 2020, after realizing the demand for her food was growing, Shivaani decided to take a leap of faith and fully invest her time into growing her business, Touch of Delhi.

In July 2021, Shivaani started preparing meals for carry-out service in a space called “A Cooks Kitchen,” which is a shared commercial kitchen space located on East Street in Downtown Frederick.

Despite the financial challenges the business faced during the pandemic, Shivaani provided meals for essential workers as a way to give back.

Touch of Delhi provides authentic North Indian Frontier cuisine and uses fresh and organic produce, dairy, and meats. Whether you prefer your food to be mild or “Super Duper Spicy,” the herbs and spices used when preparing your meal will satisfy your taste buds with its authentic flavors while also warming your soul.

You can find Touch of Delhi’s weekly menu on their social media. No one menu is alike, but each one offers flavorful options for everyone to enjoy – vegans and vegetarians included!

“This is the food that I feed my family and it is my priority to keep my customers safe while providing healthy and delicious food” says Shivaani.

“These are very unprecedented times and we need to be extra careful about our diet, which should include fresh foods and nutrition that boosts our immunity, and Touch of Delhi provides that,” she adds.
