The Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA) announced the 2023 award winners at its Annual Conference held in April. Awards were given in a variety of economic development categories, and two Frederick County projects were recognized.
FCOED’s EmPOWER Program was honored as a standout project for the year. We are extremely proud to see our program for Frederick County’s underrepresented businesses receive recognition as it continues to grow and support more local businesses.
The revitalization of Frederick’s Union Knitting Mills also received an award, which is exciting recognition for this City of Frederick project that has helped to transform the east end of Carroll Creek.
The week was also filled with fascinating panels and presentations, including one highlighting Frederick Community College’s Food Entrepreneurship Program, an effort that FCOED is proud to sponsor. Our team enjoyed the opportunity to meet and share ideas with economic development and community leaders from throughout Maryland.
