Frederick County continues to gain recognition as a premier location for the rapidly expanding life sciences industry and that sector is the fastest growing industry within Frederick County. An FCOED team led by Helen Propheter, Beth Woodring and Solash Aviles, participated in the BIO International 2022 Conference held June 13-16th as part of the Maryland delegation.
With over 3,000 international and domestic firms registered to attend the conference, it is one of the most critical events for the industry. The event gives FCOED the opportunity to support our local life science cluster growth and expand the recognition of Frederick County on a global scale. The team met with several prospective international firms interested in exploring Frederick County for future expansion, strengthened relationships with partners such as the Maryland Technology Council, the Frederick National Laboratory and the Department of Commerce and forged new relationships with international economic development and business entities in Canada, Germany and Australia.
