Minority Business Vision Networking Events(MBV) (monthly) – Whether you are looking to start or grow a business all minority, veteran or women-owned business leaders are invited to join us at our monthly MBV networking events on the third Thursday of every month, 5-7 pm, at Mount St. Mary’s University’s Frederick Campus (5350 Spectrum Drive). REALShare Frederick – Held monthly at different broker’s locations/available space, this event is for the Commercial Real Estate Professionals in Frederick County to share commercial property opportunities. Quarterly Manufacturing Lunch, Learn and Tour events – OED partners with the Frederick County Manufacturers Roundtable to hold lunch, learn and tour events at Frederick County manufacturing facilities. The event is open to manufacturers only. Participants network with one another, tour manufacturing facilities and learn from leaders relevant manufacturing related topics. Spring - ROOT Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening – The culmination of the County Executive’s vision to bring partners from the public and private sectors under one roof to jumpstart new businesses and create jobs will be celebrated with daylong events at ROOT, located at 118 N. Market St. More details will be released in the near future.
April 4 – FRED Awards - The Frederick Real Estate Dealmakers (FRED) Awards honors the most successful commercial real estate transactions and projects each year– and the people who made them happen. (Attendance by invitation only)
June 13 – NCI Tech Showcase – In its second year, and in partnership with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNLCR), this half-day event will showcase technologies being developed at NCI and FNLCR. Who should attend? Prospective investors, established companies, educators, those looking to commercialize technologies and all interested stakeholders. July 26 – Best Places to Work – The Frederick County Best Places to Work campaign recognizes the county’s most innovative, creative, and forward-thinking employers. September 11 - Start-Up Maryland/CAMI event - The STRT1UP Roadshow, hosted by StartUp Maryland, returns to Frederick on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Now in its 7th year, the tour highlights entrepreneurship across the state and is the primary recruitment effort for entrepreneurs to enter the Annual Pitch Across Maryland Competition. During the day the STRT1UP Bus will make several stops and entrepreneurs can make their pitch videos. That evening, the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland (CAMI) hosts is monthly Cyber Meetup in conjunction with the StartUp Tour. September 14-22 – Homegrown Frederick Wineries, Breweries, and Distilleries Showcase at the Great Frederick Fair - Stop by Building 13 during the Great Frederick Fair to learn how traditional agriculture is blending with this emerging industry of craft beverages. This building showcases educational displays and demonstrations, as well as the opportunity to taste some of the best Frederick County craft beverages.
October 13-14 – Homegrown Hay Days – Learn more about agriculture in Frederick County by participating in our annual weekend highlighting farms around the county. Participating farms are stepping it up this year by offering a variety of special activities and events with our revitalized and rebranded Frederick Festival @ the Farm. October 15-19 – 18th Annual Business Appreciation Week –Participate in our 18th annual Business Appreciation Week, where a small group of ambassadors comprised of leaders in the community will visit your business and learn more about what you do, thank you for operating in Frederick County, and share resources available to you.
