Main Street Frederick County
Frederick County has the most Maryland Main Street communities, with Downtown Frederick, Main Street Brunswick, Main Street Thurmont, Town of New Market and Main Steet Middletown having obtained Main Street Maryland designations. Some of Mount Airy Main Street is also part of Frederick County and shared with Carroll County. The Maryland Main Street program is a comprehensive downtown revitalization program that strives to strengthen the economic potential of traditional main streets and neighborhoods.
