The demand for high quality office and flex/warehouse space in Frederick County has increased

significantly over the past couple of years.  Developers in the region have been constructing new

buildings and renovating existing buildings to meet the demands of emerging companies looking to

locate to and expand in Frederick County.  The demand is forecasted to continue because of

Frederick County's business friendly climate, proximity to major markets, services available to

companies, well-educated and skilled labor force and Frederick County's competitive cost advantages.

In 2009, OED in cohesion with Frederick County's Enterprise GIS Team, launched a Business Parks

and Retail Centers Mapping Tool available on the web to anyone in the world looking to discover

Frederick.  The data in the mapping tool is updated quarterly.  A wide range of data can be found on

Frederick County's Business Parks and Retail Centers using the GIS tool including: property type,

proximity to major roads, zoning, aerial views and water and sewer availabilty.  Demographic data

and traffic count information can also be found using the toolwhich also provides a way to download

a PDF report.
