Local Opportunity Zones Highlighted in New Website
Frederick County, in collaboration with the City of Frederick and City of Brunswick, has launched a website to help connect investors with existing local ventures eligible for the Opportunity Zone incentive program. The Opportunity Zone program is a nationwide initiative administered by the U.S. Treasury and created under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Major Company Locations & Expansions Fuel Recent Job Growth
OED worked with 184 companies in Fiscal Year 2018 who chose to locate or expand in Frederick County. The department helped to create 747 jobs and retain 976 existing jobs, representing more than $10M of capital investment to Frederick County.
