CTR Labs opened their doors in Frederick in February of 2016 with a vision to make a true difference in the country’s opioid crisis through quality, sophisticated and comprehensive drug testing services. CTR was founded by a group of toxicologists who, for the past thirty years, have provided consultative reports to some of the biggest and most advanced medical examiner systems in the world, have developed new and innovative methods of the isolation, identification and quantitation of medications, their metabolites and designer compounds for the United States military.
Today, CTR Labs is growing and is focused on providing flexible and customizable testing options for a variety of clinical applications including pain management compliance, drug abuse monitoring, employee drug testing, and neonatal withdrawal prevention programs. Their lab utilizes the most sophisticated, sensitive, and specific technology and equipment available to screen, confirm and quantitate drugs of abuse in biological matrices.
“CTR Labs separates itself from other toxicology laboratories by being owned and operated by toxicologists, the science is what is important and that is our primary focus. We want our clients to be a part of the team and be there for any needs they may have.” Justin Holler, D-ABFT-FT, Laboratory Operations/Managing Partner
CTR Labs is very optimistic for the future as they look to expand into the forensic field working with secondary autopsy firms in addition to local law enforcement agencies when needed. CTR Labs is also working to expand and create channel partner relationships with several national toxicology and marketing firms. This includes product development in the expanding quality control and quality assurance markets. As for the immediate goals, CTR wants to expand their local footprint and become the Frederick laboratory for addiction treatment working with and teaming with local agencies who share a common vision to better our community.
