BridgePath Scientific Committed to Their Employees and Community

Frederick County businesses have experienced the need to pivot their industry in different ways in order to thrive through these difficult times – including adjusting the shifts of their employees, looking for new ways to keep and increase their customer base, keeping their employees safe and contributing to Frederick’s community.  An example of a Frederick County company that is committed to their employees and the community is BridgePath Scientific.

BridgePath Scientific has been in business in Frederick County for 14 years and has been serving the life sciences community.  They sell and support laboratory equipment and provide laboratory relocation services, preventative maintenance plans and repairs for the equipment.  In addition, they offer inspection services to valuate equipment.  The company, owned by Patrick Haley, started offering virtual services for over a year now, and this came in handy when the pandemic started and the social distancing guidelines that were implemented.

Patrick Haley continues to work virtually with his customers including start-up companies, mid-sized companies, large biopharma corporations as well as colleges and universities while also supporting the community’s needs.  Knowing the need for agencies to have critical supplies such as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), BridgePath was able to supply 10,000 latex gloves to the Meals on Wheels program.  According to Patrick, “We knew that they were in need and we were happy to be able to provide 10,000 latex gloves to them.”  The company continues to support FITCI (Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc.) by providing discounts to this business incubator’s clients.

According to Solash Aviles, Senior Business Development Manager for the Frederick County Office of Economic Development, “Our office has worked with BridgePath Scientific over the years and appreciate their continuous support not only to Frederick’s biotech industry but also our community.  As a small business they were able to jump in and help with providing critical supplies that were so needed and we appreciate all they have done.”

BridgePath Scientific has also been committed to its employees.  The company has allowed more flexible schedules for the employees, and has allowed for additional time off if needed even if staff didn’t have the leave.  Patrick has shown his appreciation also by providing his employees with lunch that sometimes he has cooked himself.  With about 10,000sq of space at the site, employees are able to be spread out through the work area and maintain social distancing.  “I feel like the BridgePath team has gotten stronger and closer over the past few months, and I am so proud of the team and how they’ve handled their personal and professional lives during this crisis,” commented Patrick.
