Tranquility Farm Equestrian Education and Renewal Center, Inc. is a 55-acre working Horse Farm, and 501 (c)(3) nonprofit in lovely, rural Thurmont, Maryland. We rescue horses from abuse or neglect situations, rehabilitate them, then match these rescued equines with people having physical, or emotional difficulties. Research shows that the horse historically has an amazing ability to help individuals recover ability to trust, communicate feelings, enhance immune function and facilitate improved social and occupational functioning. Tranquility Farm has achieved remarkable successes with our rescued horses and clients. Our new PTSD Renewal program for Veterans returning from war begins in 2009.
