Business Incubator
The Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI) opened in January
2005 and continues to build on the partnerships with Fort Detrick, Hood
College and our other quality educational institutions. Incubators are
important in creating and maintaining an entrepreneurial environment.
Research shows that incubated companies succeed and locate close to the
incubator. For that reason, Maryland and Frederick County see business
incubation as a key economic development strategy. Future plans include
an additional incubator on Fort Detrick which we believe will be an icon
in bioscience and technology business attraction/expansion.
