represented approximately 7% of the private sector employment for Frederick County. There were a total of 188 manufacturing
establishments employing 5,574 people paying $674 million in annual wages. The average annual wage per manufacturing worker was $52,832 (26% greater than the annual wage per worker in the private sector).

The Frederick County Manufacturers Roundtable
is a membership comprised of various manufacturing companies who meet
monthly to discuss the opportunities that exist for local manufacturers
and discuss issues to improve the competitiveness of the manufacturing
industry in Frederick County.
The state of Maryland offers a competitive environment for manufacturers.
There are approximately 4,054 manufacturing companies employing 132,044 people. The state of Maryland’s Department of Economic Development
works closely with the Frederick County Office of Economic Development
to provide financial assistance, training, site selection and educational
and networking opportunities for our manufacturing companies.
